THEODORE TIHANSKY
Artist statement
"My painting is a diary of my life. The paintings are the end products…
what is important to me are the moments and experiences that I have because
of my painting. The people I meet and the things I do are for a reason."
Ted Tihansky received formal training at the Art Student's League, NYC,
Lyme Academy of Fine Art, and Paeir College of Art. He has numerous awards
and has been featured in many publications, including the New York Times
travel section, September 19, 2002, National Geographic, World Traveler
Magazine and others cited in his biography. His portraits are in many
collections, Including Yale University, the University of Rhode Island,
and the Naval War College in Newport, Rhode Island.
Ted has been living and working on Monhegan Island, Maine, full time for
the past ten years. He came to the Island with a wealth of experience
in painting and owning a gallery in Newport Rhode Island. He is currently
residing in Hoboken, NJ.
This past year, 2009, Ted has been working painting cityscapes etc. in
New York City and Hoboken, New Jersey.
The most recent advancement is that Theodore will be represented at Amsterdam
Whitney International Fine Art. Inc. 511 West 25th St., Chelsea, New York.
