Learn the fascinating ancient techniques of encaustic wax painting, involving applying melted colored wax to various surfaces and allowed to cool. The wax can be re-melted as often as you wish. In this class you will use pencil, charcoal and pastel to learn basic forms, one and two point perspective, negative space, tonal value and proportion. Use these fundamentals to draw anything. Drawing accurately is the basis for all other fine art mediums.

	*NEW* Here is an exciting opportunity to "play with clay". Certified art teacher Kate Pilletteri will be teaching the basic hand building techniques of pinch, coil, and slab. Students will create a variety of functional and non functional projects utilizing one or more of these techniques. Finished pieces will be glazed or painted. Be prepared for a lot of messy fun!
Private lessons available starting at $30 an hour minimum 2hrs. Home school classes available, talk to Cindy to set up the class.
Start Planning for the Next Student Show! This year the student show Opening reception will be Thursday August 13th from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. The show will stay up in the Gallery through Saturday August 15th during Village Days 2008. It must be framed if it is a drawing or painting. You will receive 30% off in our frame shop, if it is going in the show! Plan on putting at least one piece in the show. This is the “recital” for our students. Lets show off all of our hard work!

Tuition must be paid in full at time of registration. Mid-class registration will be pro-rated. A materials list will be provided at time of registration. No refunds after first class. We reserve the right to cancel any class time that does not meet minimum registration requirements. Withdrawal policies: withdrawal must be 2 business days before first lesson, class, or workshop to receive a full refund minus a $10.00 administrative fee. Camp; withdrawal must be 2 weeks before the first day of camp to receive a full refund. The Art Stop LLC is not responsible for typographical errors.
